What does it mean for a nonprofit to be CRA aligned?
Each nonprofit on Community Qualifier has been reviewed by findCRA utilizing a dual evaluation process. Nonprofits are first evaluated by our proprietary algorithm, CRANIA, and then further validated by our CRA experts. When nonprofit passes both parts of this review, we create a nonprofit profile for them on Community Qualifier. From there, a nonprofit can claim their profile and add additional information including their programs & services, counties served, targeted clients and income groups and more.

AAA SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
AAA provides banks with an innovative CRA investment opportunity at no cost. A bank can elect to redirect its state tax liability to AAA to fund scholarships for low-income children to attend the school of their choice. Over 90% of the children who receive AAA scholarships are at or below 200% of the poverty level and qualify for national free or reduced lunch programs. Examiners at the federal banking regulatory agencies have approved dollars transferred to fund scholarships through the program for positive consideration as part of the bank’s CRA investment test. Banks must have a corporate state tax liability in AZ, FL, GA or NV to participate and contributions can be allocated to specific assessment areas within these states upon request.

BANK ADVISORY BOARD
The AAA Scholarship Foundation Bank Advisory Board consists of banking experts, currently working in any aspect of the banking field, interested in improving the educational opportunities of economically disadvantaged children in the communities we serve. The Board serves as a strategic partner to AAA by offering knowledge, experience and recommendations to improve the outreach, marketing and services of the Foundation. Bankers participating in the Board provide financial-related technical assistance to the Foundation. As most of the students who receive AAA scholarships are low-income (more than 90%), service hours provided as a participant in the Board will qualify for positive consideration as part of the bank’s CRA service test.
