What does it mean for a nonprofit to be CRA aligned?
Each nonprofit on Community Qualifier has been reviewed by findCRA utilizing a dual evaluation process. Nonprofits are first evaluated by our proprietary algorithm, CRANIA, and then further validated by our CRA experts. When nonprofit passes both parts of this review, we create a nonprofit profile for them on Community Qualifier. From there, a nonprofit can claim their profile and add additional information including their programs & services, counties served, targeted clients and income groups and more.

Shelter for those who have experienced domestic violence & sexual assault
The Friendship Center provides safe shelter as well as wrap-around services for those who have experienced domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking (DVSA). We recognize that violence does not discriminate, and we serve anyone impacted by these crimes. Access to safe shelter can help remove the barriers to escaping violence. TFC's shelter includes five rooms for emergency housing, in which victims can stay for up to 45 days. We also have eight rooms in our Healthy Transitions program that provides longer term housing to residents until they are able to find stable, long-term housing on their own. We provide more than 6,000 nights of shelter annually.

24/7 Crisis LIne
TFC’s 24/7 crisis line connects clients to hospital resources, crisis intervention counseling, safety planning, emotional support, and more. Outside of normal business hours, the crisis line is staffed with volunteers, and there is always a TFC staff person on backup should the crisis line volunteer encounter a situation in which they are unsure how to respond. Even when the call happens at 2 a.m. on Christmas Eve, someone from TFC picks up the line. With the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the crisis line has become even more critical as it is now the primary avenue for victims to reach out for help. We have seen a 29% increase in total crisis line calls and a 21% increase in time spent per crisis line call between 2019 and 2021.
