Afterschool
Afterschool sites are all licensed by DHS/DOE and located in 22 schools across the region. This program is a partnership with the school administration to provide a safe, supportive environment with a focus on enrichment activities, academics, and fun. The Afterschool program provides youth with a safe place to go before and after the bell. More importantly, we help youth realize who they are and what they can achieve.

Brighter Horizons Youth Center
The community outreach youth center serves as a hub for middle school students and will host parent workshops and family engagement events for families in the Hawkins County area. With 5,000 square feet, the building offers spaces for kids to engage in activities designed to stimulate the mind and make learning fun. Dedicated staff members create detailed program actives that focus on social emotional learning (SEL), life skills and fun for the kids who come to the center. In addition to providing educational enrichment activities and life skills, the youth center has a newly renovated kitchen, which will be used to cook, prepare, package, and deliver 5 component meals. Meals will be provided to students at the youth center & schools.

Summer Camps
Camp Ironwood is a fun, dynamic program for rising 1st-5th graders Campers will head out on adventures in different adventure, exploring their individual potential. Every day holds endless possibilities as they build new friendships, enjoy the great outdoors, get active, create crafts, act in skits, and learn songs. Each week, campers have a field trips, with breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack provided daily.

Feeding Program
The Feeding Program was established in an effort to fill the gap of food insecurities for children, The feeding program is for the children in the Y’s Afterschool and Y On Wheels programs, Some of these children do not know where their next meal is coming from after they leave school. The feeding program will serve children a 5 component meal daily, following the USDA’s regulations for nutrition. The children will receive these meals Monday-Friday during the entire year.
