Shannon West Homeless Youth Center
HELP of Southern Nevada’s Shannon West Homeless Youth Center (SWHYC) provides services for at-risk youth, age 16-24, that are homeless or at-risk of becoming homeless. SWHYC provides safe and stable housing, basic needs/food, intensive case management, person centered case plan, housing stability plan, education assistance, employment assistance, assistance in transitioning to own apartment, addiction and mental health services, health and wellness, financial literacy, activities of daily living and supportive services. At capacity SWHYC can house 150 youth. SWHYC is certified to provide Level 1 outpatient substance abuse and co-occurring treatment and prevention by the State of Nevada Division of Public and Behavioral Health.

Family Housing Services
The Family Housing Services department is made up of housing for families with children, pregnant women and youth who are at-risk of becoming homeless or homeless living in shelters, vehicles or on the streets. Family Housing Services also provides supportive services such as HELP’s Diaper Bank and Energy SHARE- Southwest Gas utility assistance.

Workforce Services
The Workforce Services department provides pre-employment services that empower participants to enter or re-enter the labor market. Workshops, support groups and networking, one-to-one personal or vocational counseling, training, job-seeking and job-keeping methods, leadership development, decision-making skills development and assistance with developing an action plan are among the resources used to help participants build confidence, identify skills and seek training or employment. Workforce Services Displaced Homemaker Program offers free assistance to anyone who has recently lost his or her primary source of income due to job lay-offs, divorce, death or disability.

Adult Housing Programs
HELP of Southern Nevada is made up of eight housing programs that provide housing and intensive case management to formally homeless and chronically homeless individuals and families who have a documented disability. All eight programs focus on providing supportive services to clients to overcome barriers, stabilize their mental health and/or substance abuse so they can become self-sufficient and be self-reliant. The programs provide intensive case management and scattered site housing using the housing first, harm reduction model.
