What does it mean for a nonprofit to be CRA aligned?
Each nonprofit on Community Qualifier has been reviewed by findCRA utilizing a dual evaluation process. Nonprofits are first evaluated by our proprietary algorithm, CRANIA, and then further validated by our CRA experts. When nonprofit passes both parts of this review, we create a nonprofit profile for them on Community Qualifier. From there, a nonprofit can claim their profile and add additional information including their programs & services, counties served, targeted clients and income groups and more.

Programs & Services info
Youth Internship Program
Our Youth Internship Program (YIP) exemplifies our belief in the potential of all people to contribute to building a better future. YIP combines hands-on experience and job skills with environmental education (i.e., sustainability and resource stewardship) and promotes social justice by providing opportunities to those who have less. The program operates on a dual focus: first, empowering youth to overcome barriers to meaningful employment and, second, demonstrating to youth the connections between consumer actions, limited global resources, carbon emissions, and the protection of our natural world. Each year, HR employs 12-16 Youth Interns (between the ages of 15 and 18) for a total of 75 to 150 hours of work over a three month period.

Retail Employment
Home ReSource sells affordable, reused building materials in a welcoming, respectful space. Fueled by 2.5 tons of daily donations, each year our store serves ~50,000 customers, keeps over 900 tons of materials out of the landfill, and generates over $800,000 in sales (95% returned to the local economy). We serve artists, microentrepreneurs, tenants, homeowners, youth and others seeking ways to affordably build, repair and create, as well as reduce their carbon footprints. Our retail operations are underwritten by charitable contributions in order to compensate retail employees adequately for their work. Through our retail operations we employ 19 individuals on a full time basis.
