Betting on Your Financial Future addresses this gap by approaching sports betting as a financial literacy issue.The program uses an educational, nonjudgmental approach. Rather than simply telling students not to gamble, KFEC helps participants understand how gambling works, how financial risk is created, and how gambling decisions can affect personal financial goals. Students are encouraged to critically evaluate advertisements and betting promotions, understand the difference between entertainment and financial decision-making, recognize potential warning signs of risky behavior, and consider how money spent on gambling could otherwise be used toward savings, education, transportation, housing, or other financial priorities.
