What does it mean for a nonprofit to be CRA aligned?
Each nonprofit on Community Qualifier has been reviewed by findCRA utilizing a dual evaluation process. Nonprofits are first evaluated by our proprietary algorithm, CRANIA, and
then further validated by our CRA experts. When nonprofit passes both parts of this review, we create a nonprofit profile for them on Community Qualifier. From there, a nonprofit can claim their profile and add additional information including their programs & services, counties served, targeted clients and income groups and more.

MUD Tool Library
The MUD Tool Library provides access to the tools and knowledge for Missoulians to improve their homes and lives. Our tool library ensures that everyone has access to tools regardless of their income. The tools are available to our members and are shared, just like books in a library. With nearly 3,000 tools in our inventory, we have tools to assist with everything from home repairs to lawn maintenance to domestic projects such as food preservation and sewing. Whether our members utilize the tool library to try out a new hobby or to address a crucial household need, MUD offers the tools, knowledge, and support to help them get it done.

Sustainable Living Workshops
MUD workshops are a safe place for individuals to explore new hobbies, build a sense of community, and learn skills to live more sustainably. Workshops give individuals hands-on experience to tackle projects with guidance and expertise from instructors. Workshop participants gain the foundation to grow their own food, successfully take on simple home repairs, or implement their own sustainable living strategies. Our workshops are a way for our community members to share skills with one another while also gaining confidence to make changes in their own lives and decreasing their impact on the environment. Having a DIY mentality helps empower people to create change in their living environment and make more sustainable choices.

MUD Demonstration Site
Since MUD’s inception in 1981, it has been a demonstration site of sustainable living techniques and practices to educate and raise awareness about how to live in a more environmentally friendly way. The site is now the home of numerous demonstration projects including urban gardens, solar panels, rainwater catchment, reused building materials, permeable pathways, and much more. The collection of demonstration projects provide the community with a concrete and inspirational overview of what can be implemented in their own homes. It also provides the community with a collaborative space to sustainable living and the many ways sustainability can take shape in our community. The projects also help MUD decrease its environmental impact.
