Homeless Individuals
Portland, OR

As part of its “safe harbors” initiative, OHOH is developing the Navigation Center temporary homeless shelter in downtown Portland. Adopting an innovative approach used in major urban centers around the nation, including San Francisco, this facility will provide short-term residency for the homeless as well as critical supportive services to help people transition to the next step in care, capability and self-help. Made possible by a generous gift from Portland philanthropists and business leaders, Tim and Mary Boyle, as well as grants from the city of Portland and Multnomah County, it will be operated in partnership with Transitions Projects, Inc., the city, county, state agencies, and many nonprofit and faith-based groups.
