CHILD CARE GRANT PROGRAM

Economic Development
LMI Parents & Families
Seattle, WA MSA

This program supports low-income parents while they are completing their college degree by awarding child care grants. It allows parents to graduate in a timely manner, move into a career and gives their child a start to their own educational journey. Applicant income cannot exceed 250% of the current federal poverty measure based on family size. Parents must have residential custody of their children, actively attend a program-approved college, take a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester, maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher, be pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree and eligible for Federal Student Aid. Through this program, 95% of the grantees successfully complete each academic quarter and average a 3.5 GPA.

CHILD CARE ADVOCATE PROGRAM

Community Services to LMI Individuals
LMI Student Parents
Seattle, WA MSA

To ensure the success of our grantees, we pair every student parent that receives a Child Care Grant with a volunteer advocate. These advocates support our student parents and their families throughout the academic quarter by providing encouragement, resources and guidance as they progress towards graduation. Advocates provide support and additional resources to our student parents to ensure that they are successful in obtaining their educational goals and becoming financially independent.
