Mission Statement info

THE TLLCCF WAS FOUNDED IN AUGUST 1987 BY KAY AND FRED LOKOFF TO HONOR THE MEMORY OF THEIR DAUGHTER TERRI WHO DIED TRAGICALLY IN A CAR ACCIDENT IN 1986. THE TLLCCF IS A NONPROFIT 501 (C)(3) ORGANIZATION IS DEDICATED TO MAKING AMERICA BETTER BY IMPROVING EARLY CARE AND EDUCATION. OUR ROLE IS TO ENHANCE THE LIVES OF CHILDREN AND CHILD CARE TEACHERS AND PROVIDERS IN THE CHILD CARE COMMUNITY, AND TO HEIGHTEN THE AWARENESS OF THE PUBLIC TO THE NEED AND DEFINITION OF QUALITY CHILD CARE. WE SUPPORT NONPROFIT, NONSECTARIAN CHILDCARE PROGRAMS DEDICATED TO EXCELLENCE AND RAISES AWARENESS OF THE CRITICAL ROLE HIGH-QUALITY EARLY CARE AND EDUCATION PLAYS IN COMMERCE AND SOCIETY. THE TLLCCF’S FUNDS HAVE DIRECTLY BENEFITED THOUSANDS OF CHILDREN, PROGRAM PROVIDERS AND STUDENTS STUDYING EARLY CARE AND EDUCATION. THE FOUNDATION ALSO RECOGNIZES AND REWARDS TEACHERS NATIONWIDE FOR EXCELLENCE AND DEDICATION.

LOIS B. COHAN MUSEUMS TO GO
TLLCCF offers the Lois B. Cohan Museums to Go program, which provides $500 to nonprofit, nonsectarian child care centers serving at-risk and low-income families. This funding is utilized to bring age-appropriate cultural, art, music, theatre and education programs from outstanding local museums and institutions into the classroom. The program currently serves children up to five years of age in PA, NJ and DE but TLLCCF is looking to expand nationally.

CHILD CARE CENTER ENHANCEMENT GRANTS
TLLCCF's Child Care Center Enhancement Grants are presented to nonprocit, nonsectarian child care centers in selected counties in Pennsylvania. The child care centers are invited to submit application for grants, which afford the centers an opportunity to implement specific changes to improve the quality of the care provided to their children. Recipients of the grants are selected by a committee of TLLCCF board members, early childhood educators and specialists.

TLLCCF/CHILDREN'S TYLENOL® NATIONAL CHILD CARE TEACHER AWARDS
These awards recognize and raise the status of child care teachers throughout the nation. They acknowledge the critical role that child care teachers play in providing quality early child care and education. Child care teachers form all 50 states, D.C. and U.S. military bases are invited to apply. Fifty teachers are selected anually to receive a $500 personal grant and $500 project grant. Banks can provide support for the awards through sponsorship of the program.
