What does it mean for a nonprofit to be CRA aligned?
Each nonprofit on Community Qualifier has been reviewed by findCRA utilizing a dual evaluation process. Nonprofits are first evaluated by our proprietary algorithm, CRANIA, and then further validated by our CRA experts. When nonprofit passes both parts of this review, we create a nonprofit profile for them on Community Qualifier. Programs & Services info
Young Growers
Young Growers is a free educational program that teaches youth ages 8-17 about sustainable agriculture, horticulture, livestock management, financial education, healthy eating, and environmental practices such as composting and recycling. This 8 week program introduces youth to gardening by learning how to plant, maintain, and harvest vegetables grown themselves. Youth then learn about financial literacy and entrepreneurship when they sell their harvest at the Main Street Portsmouth Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings. Additionally, youth also learn about caring for their communities by packaging up healthy food packs filled with fresh foods to deliver to seniors and families who live near the community garden sites.
