What does it mean for a nonprofit to be CRA aligned?
Each nonprofit on Community Qualifier has been reviewed by findCRA utilizing a dual evaluation process. Nonprofits are first evaluated by our proprietary algorithm, CRANIA, and then further validated by our CRA experts. When nonprofit passes both parts of this review, we create a nonprofit profile for them on Community Qualifier. From there, a nonprofit can claim their profile and add additional information including their programs & services, counties served, targeted clients and income groups and more.

Community Feeding Program
We have provided 5 million meals since March 2020 to children/families experiencing food insecurity making us the largest meal provider of all YMCAs in America. We provide meals and snacks to children in our service area through weekly bulk meal distribution at community sites, YMCA Centers, local churches, Before/ After School programs in Memphis Shelby County School District, daycare centers, and through our Y on the Fly mobile unit program. We utilize a network of volunteers, corporate partners, churches, and individuals to deliver these critical services to the 35% of Shelby County living below the poverty line. We produce meals in house from a commercial kitchen, with a production assembly line and fleet of refrigerated trucks

Y on the Fly Program
The Y on the Fly program runs as a mobile unit serving youth from under-resourced household in our communities. With this program, we are able to take YMCA program and services to vulnerable communities who lack transportation and access to critical resources for youth development. This "YMCA Without Walls" consists currently of 4 vans which travel and provide meals, enrichment opportunities, books, games, and exercise to under-resourced areas that would not normally be able to access a YMCA. We are reaching more than 3000 children in 30 sites in Tennessee and Mississippi. Children get to pick out books, learn skills to be safe in and around water, learn the importance of physical activity and fun, and eat a nutritious, balanced meal.
